Swaps and then some & OPAM

This year I joined into 2 swaps, My House My Home Swap with organised by Karen from Mrs. Martins Quilt Shop and the 12" Mini Swap organised by our wonderful swap mamma Cheryll.

First the My House My Home Swap, I have Karen (no blog) from Victoria, we get to swap with each other 4 times this year and a Christmas Ornament, just because.  This swap was for our sewing room/nook

This is the lovely parcel I received from Karen, wonderful project folder with little hexie flowers on it, utensils bag, lovely little tin, beautiful Cottage Garden thread, Gail Pan card and a little block of chocolate, with a self printed Red Brolly wrapper on it.  Love it to bits Karen, thanks so much.

I sent Karen a wall hanging from Natalie Bird, Stitching Angel and 2 thread catchers.  Karen likes  read that as loves French General fabric, so I found some to make her project with, now guess who also likes it....thanks for that Karen.  Trying now to think of what next to make for her.....any hints Karen?????

This is my lovely 12" mini I received from Ondrea, sew very cute, and now residing in my foyer.  Unfortunately mine is running late.....Sorry Cheryll......Doctors orders.  I had a scare just under 2 weeks ago with the possibility of Carpel Tunnel, Doctor told me no sewing until I had a scan, did that on Thursday, now waiting for results, hoping that they will be ok, hand is feeling alot better.  My swap will be expressed posted tomorrow to my recipient.

OPAM for March is

1.  Ipad bag
2.  Rosalie Quinlan Quilt Giving Bag
3.  Natalie Bird True Friends Tote
4.  Cinderberry Stitches Bunting House project folder
5.  Natalie Bird Sewing Angel Wall Quilt
6 & 7 Thread Bags

Well that's enough from me

LITTLE BITS OF THIS AND THAT

We are in the downward spiral into Flyboy and Our Beautiful Girl's wedding, 2 weeks and 6 days to be exact, bucks day was held yesterday, hen's night was last week, shower tea this coming Saturday, then the wait for the wonderful day.  Thought for awhile I was going to be wearing my jeans and joggers, but thankfully just before Christmas I walked into a shop and there it was just for me.  So yesterday it was at the alteration place so the suit could be altered for the Mr. and the outfit shortened for me.  We both have ducks decease, you know butts to close to the ground.

I have also been sewing with some more finishes

I got this pattern from Facebook, Quiltville  its a freebie that you might like, its huge, will be great on my table next to my arm chair for ease

My drawstring bag that matches my pouch from last week, thank heavens the fabric arrived so I could finish it.

I have finished the front of my Cinderberries Needle Keep, the inside is sitting under the sewing machine foot, I'm quilting it at the moment

My little pin cushion to match the Needle Keep also a Cinderberries pattern and so very cute.

Last but not least, my dresdens from last week's class with Michelle Marvig, I have to applique it onto the background, hopefully I will get to do this next weekend seeing we have a 3 day one.

Tomorrow you will need to head across to Peg's its OPAM sign up.  Are you going to join in the fun this year?  I know I will, it motivates me to finish my projects.

Well that's enough from me

Girls own Stitching Club & Opam

Had a great day on Sunday sewing with my BFF Rhonda, we decided we will get together once a month for a sewing day.  We decided we would make the sewing bag from Red Brolly Girls own Stitching Club sewing basket.  Bronwyn is very generous with free patterns for us all, and I just love them.

This sewing basket is so easy to make and its just so sweet, and very roomy, I'm looking forward to seeing what Bronwyn has in store for us next month.

I also made myself one of Bronwyn's Mug Bag's again just so easy to make and so cute.

There's a pocket in it for your tea, coffee and sugar sachets and a little sack to keep your precious mug safe.  I know the BFF reads this......so don't go making yourself one, I'm half finished yours....  Our next months stitching project is The Bird House True Friends Tote that all of you are making with Chooky's Stitch along.  I had intended to join in this year, but when I looked at what you were all making, I had made most of those projects last year, so this year I will sit it out and hope that I can join next year.  Rhonda and I are sewing the stitchery panel for each other, so we will prepare the body of the bag ourselves and swap the panel to enable us to finish it.

So my OPAM for the months of January and February are the following 6 finishes for me.

1.  Friends needlecase
2. Valentine Heart pin cushion
3.  Strawberry scissor keeps x 2
4.  Girls own Stitching Club sewing basket
5.  Mug bag

Have been very busy this week, flying trip to Canberra for work on Monday, trying to launch our new web site and not to mention all the rain and all the repairs relating to that.  Also hard to believe its the end of the month today, time is just flying by.  #1 son is going for his drivers licence this morning, hope he get it ok, then its back to uni for him this weekend, Flyboy is back from exercises on the weekend, haven't seen him for a month, mum gets to do the run to the airport Saturday morning at 6.30 am no sleep in for me.

Well thats enough from me

What I've been working on & OPAM

I've been working on A Christmas Wish by Gail Pan for the past few weeks,  I took it away on my cruise, but didn't get much done on the boat, wonder why?  I was also working on it last week with FNWF so I am showing you finally what I was doing.  I have one more block to do and then put it together.  I have chosen cream candy canes, so that should look good

I have lots planned for this year, so hopefully I will achieve what I set out to.  Thanks to Peg and Kris for hosting OPAM and looking forward to joining again this year.

Well that's enough from me
