Busy week

Went back to work on Monday, and it didn't feel like we even had a break.....never mind, week dragged, but it was busy.  I have had a busy weekend too......

Finished this early in the week

Matches my Gail Pan set finished while I was on holidays.

Got a nice surprise on Thursday, picked up the mail from the Post Office, there was a parcel addressed to my partner  at work, with familiar hand writing on it, took it in to her and said what have you been buying from Sarah?  She said to me you may as well open it cause it's for you......I was asking Sarah about the book the day before, Debbie (partner at work) emailed her asking was there anything in particular I was looking at or I might like, and voila

It arrived on my desk for my something or other day.......which was a great surprise.  Has a lot of lovely toppers, now all I have to do is decide where to start.

Yesterday started off with a trip to the movies, to see the new Sherlock Holmes Movie, very good, a bit hard to watch, you have to pay attention, but I enjoyed it, with #1 son, then I came home and headed off to the sewing room and this is what I finished

This is a pattern by Marg Lowe for a book bag, found it easy to make, changed the embroidery a little, but happy with the results, was hoping it would be big enough for my new Samsung Tablet when it arrives before I make it a special sleeve, but its just a tad too small.

Last night we went out to dinner with friends who we met on our Cruise to Fiji a few years ago, was a belated Christmas dinner and a dinner to celebrate her something or other day as well as mine, that was very nice :)

Then today I went here

With #2 son, his lovely partner, and her parents of and of course my DH.  Exhibition was great, some of the costume fabric was superb, would dearly love to work with some of it, was really tempted to feel it but wasnt about to get into trouble from someone from the Ministry of Magic, so hands were kept off :)

We are off to Tasmania on Thursday to celebrate my Father in Law's 90th birthday on Friday and Mother in laws 80th which is in February, we will have a joint celebration, and back home again on the Monday.  I have some sewing packed to do while I am away, will just depend on how busy we get whether any is done.

Well thats enough from me

Happy Stitching
